Creating API Keys

API keys let you authenticate with the Cohost API. Each key is scoped to your company and can be revoked at any time.

Generate a Key

1. Log in to cohost.vip
2. Go to Company → Users & Permissions
3. Navigate to the API Keys section
4. Click Generate API Key
5. Give your key a descriptive name (e.g. “n8n Production”, “Zapier”)
6. Copy the key immediately — it is only shown once

Caution

If you lose your key, you’ll need to generate a new one. The original cannot be recovered.

Managing Keys

From the same Users & Permissions page you can:

• View all active keys and when they were created
• Revoke a key to immediately disable it

Best Practices

• Use separate keys for each integration or environment (dev, staging, production)
• Never commit keys to version control — use environment variables instead
• Rotate keys periodically and after any team member leaves
• Revoke unused keys to reduce your attack surface
